– Is Copart.com a
Copart.com is a well known site that
has transitioned from simply selling car parts to offering entire cars at auction. Copart.com has
been one of the longest standing car auction sites on the web. It is a large company that has a
great reputation among users. Another good source for finding cars at auction is using a service
Copart.com is a great place to pick up that second
car but there are some facts you need to know before you jump right in. This site is a good option but like every
other site they are in it to make some money. So there is a registration fee, now you can register for free but
with the free registration you are limited to bidding on one car only. You may want to start out with the free
registration than move on from there if you can not find a car the first time around than you are going to have to
ante up the $200 membership fees.
Other Fees From Copart.com
So once you pay your $200 nonrefundable membership
fees than you are also going to have to make a deposit of $400 using a debit or a credit card. This is
actually quite a fair fee considering that you will be bidding on cars that are way beyond the four hundred dollar
deposit. The deposit is fully refundable if you do not win the car you are bidding on.
Some Other Things to Note
Copart.com has several lots throughout the US. When
you win an auction you only have 7 days to get the car out of the lot. On the 7th day you start to incur storage
fees to the tune of $100 per day. It is strongly recommended that you understand the terms completely before you
start to bid.
These vehicles are largely from insurance situations
that means that many of these vehicles offered have at least some damage to them. Some may have mechanical issues
while some may have some cosmetic issues. It is recommended that either you attend the auction directly if possible
but if you can not due to geographical location than you hire someone to take a look for you!
This site has been around for a while and does have a
very good reputation for providing people with the opportunity to buy late model cars for way under blue book
value. I would recommend this site as a place to shop for cars.
Subscription Price: $200

Overall, the Copart.com reviews show that this is a
legit site and is not a scam, however most people prefer using a service like Auctionresource.org for finding deals on automobiles and parts.
